PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

This is a list of equipment that you will need for the various elements of sparring at Momentum. This equipment is purley for your protection and the protection of those you train with. All items are available from Tom or you are welcome to purchase the items yourself, although these items will need to be examined and approved by a coach before they are used.

When you join, you will have the opportunity to buy the basic sparring kit (Gumshield and boxing gloves). This is so you can take part in basic sparring consisting of boxing and grappling and will allow you light contact training in those areas.

A full sparring kit will comprise of the following:

Gumshield
16 oz boxing gloves
MMA gloves
Headguard with removable face grille
Groin guard
Shin/instep protectors (no heel kicks)
Or shin and boots

To take part in sparring you will need the following kit for each sparring section.

Boxing

Grappling (no strikes)
