Head Coach: Tom Mayes

Tom has been training in Martial arts since 1990. Training in a variety of systems, styles and combat sports, ranging through striking arts, grappling arts and arts that mix the two together. He has had well over 50 competitive fights, ranging from amateur through to professional, in a variety of formats including kickboxing, grappling and Mixed Martial Arts where he won 2 British Amateur Mixed Martial Arts titles, and remained undefeated after 16 full contact MMA fights. Tom has been teaching Martial Arts since 1998 and holds numerous black belts in systems such as Kickboxing, a 2nd Dan in Modern Arts Karate and Combat Cross Training where he holds a 3rd Dan.
Fitness is a very important part of Tom’s Martial Arts training and as a fully qualified Fitness Instructor, he incorporates this into his session plans. Tom remains as much a student of the Martial Arts as he does a coach, and he is always on the look out for new ways to improve how and what he trains and teaches.
Tom is now a full time Fire-fighter in Reading and coaches Martial Arts in his spare time.
Coach, Brendan Goldstein:
Brendan has been training in Martial Arts since 2000 and has trained in numerous different systems Namely Kickboxing, Judo, Defendo (British Ju-Jitsu) and of course Combat Cross Training. He has had 1 Kickboxing fight, and 4 amateur MMA fights along with a wealth of practical, real world experience. Brendan currently holds a Black Belt in Combat Cross Training and is working towards his 2nd Dan.
Fitness training plays a big part in Brendan’s life, and this transfers over when he teaches, making classes both fun and challenging. Brendan is also an accomplished surfer and spends much of his spare time following his passion.
